Solution

Sublimation:

  • The conversion between the solid and the gaseous phases of matter, with no intermediate liquid stage is known as sublimation.
  • An example of sublimation is dry ice which is a frozen form of Carbon dioxide
  • A range of solids, including water, Iodine, Arsenic, and solid Carbon dioxide (dry ice), can sublimate at normal temperatures and pressures.
  • Sometimes, some materials can also sublimate by creating conditions of low pressure.

Therefore, Sublimation is the change of solid-state directly to a vapour state without going through the liquid state.
