Question

__ is the force which holds two or more atoms together in a stable molecule.

Open in App
Solution

To attain stability, atoms tend to combine chemically with redistribution of electrons in the outermost shell or valence electrons so that each is left with stable electronic configuration(duplet or octet).During the redistribution of electrons, a force of attraction develops between atoms, which binds them together to form molecules. This bond is known as the chemical bond.
