Prime numbers are only divisible by 1 and itselves and for 2 different prime numbers, each prime can’t divide the other prime. So 1 is the only common factor between them.

Hence, greatest common factor between any two prime numbers equal 1.

Let's take an example of two prime numbers i.e 3 and 5.
3=1×35=1×5

1 is the only common factor between them. Hence, greatest common divisor of 3 and 5 is equal to 1.
