Solution
Underground water is the water present below the earth's surface. It is a major source of fresh water because water percolates in the ground and so, it gets filtered and thus, it is fit for drinking purpose. It is present in the spaces between soil particles. It gets stored in the pore spaces of soil and passes through soil, rocks and sand particles and gets collected as aquifers. The underground water is neither used by animals as it is not accessible to them and it is not also exposed to evaporation because it is stored below the earth's surface.
