Nephron:

  1. Each kidney is formed of about one million tubular structures called nephrons and they are considered as the structural and functional unit of the kidney.
  2. Each nephron is formed of two parts namely glomerulus and urinary tubules.
  3. Nephrons filter the waste products from the blood.
  4. Blood is filtered in the nephrons to eliminate wastes like salts, urea, uric acid and excess of water from the body.
