Mycoplasma:

  1. The organisms without cell walls & that can live without oxygen are called mycoplasmas.
  2. Mycoplasma is the simplest and the smallest of free living prokaryotes.
  3. The size ranges from 0.1-0.15 μm. A cell wall is also absent.
  4. The plasma membrane forms the outer boundary of the cell.
  5. Due to the absence of a cell wall, organisms can change their shape and are pleomorphic.
