If ab is a rational number and m is a non-zero integerthen a×mb×m is a rational number equivalent to ab . Here, ab=-413 12-39=-4×313×3=a×mb×m where m=3the fractions -413 and 12-39 are equal because the numeratorand the denominator of 12-39 can be obtained by multiplying each of the numerator and denominator of -413 by 3.Hence, -413 and 12-39 are equivalent rational number.
