  7. Tubal ligation is performed using a laparoscope (a telescopic instrument).
  8. This constricts the fallopian tubes.
  9. Because the ovaries are intact, eggs continue to be produced, but they do not pass into the uterus and sperms do not reach the eggs for fertilization.
