Open in App
Solution

  1. Due to its weight and status as one of our heaviest metals, tungsten is an important element.
  2. Compared to tungsten, which has a density of 19.25 g/cm3, gold has a density of 19.30 g/cm3.
  3. This indicates that gold weighs slightly more than tungsten.

Tungsten: Group 6 of the periodic table is tungsten, sometimes called wolfram, as well as Cr and Mo.

  1. Its atomic mass is 184 and its atomic number is 74.
  2. It has five stable isotopes (180 W, 182 W, 183 W, 184 W, and 186 W), with +4 being its two primary oxidation states.
  3. Of these, 182 W, 184 W, and 186 W are most prevalent at 28.426 percent, and 30.64 percent respectively.

Hence, tungsten is not heavier than gold.
