Open in App
Solution

  1. Work is said to be done only when a force applied to a body causes displacement in the direction of the applied force.
  2. SI unit of work is Joule (J).
  3. Work done depends on the following factors-
    1. Force applied (magnitude and direction)
    2. Displacement (in the direction of the applied force)
  4. Work is the energy generated when an object is displaced from its place.
  5. It has only magnitude but no direction.
  6. Work is written as a dot product of force and displacement. Therefore, work is a scalar quantity.
