There are certain reasons which make it difficult to make drugs or vaccines which can be used for the treatment or prevention of the viral disease. The HIV virus has a latency period in which there is no proper idea that the viral infection which switches on after specific weeks or months. The virus divides at a much rapid pace in the infected person. If there are drugs used for te treatment of the virus, the virus gets mutated very fast and so, the drugs cannot be synthesised and used again. The HIV attacks the immune system cells. This is the main reason which suppresses the immune response of the host against the virus. The T-cells are affected so, the process of recognitions and then the stimulation of B-cells to produce antibodies gets suppressed.
