Compressibility nature of solid:

  1. The molecules in a solid are closely packed, i.e. intermolecular space is negligible. Therefore, solids are incompressible.
  2. Thus, the volume of solid remains the same. This is termed the incompressibility nature of solid.
  3. Thus, it is difficult to compress a solid even on applying pressure.
