The correct option is C (0.89, 0.28)
We can solve this problem by law of conservation of energy and momentum but lets try to understand it in some other way.
We know that if a body collides with a heavier mass then it simply retraces it path backwards and loss of energy of that body is less.
But, if a body collides with a lighter mass then both the masses will start moving and loss of energy of the body will be more as comparative to that in previous case.
IIy if a neutron collides with carbon nucleus then its the loss of energy should be less as comparative to when it collides with deuterium.
If we look at our options only option (c) satisfies this condition.
option (c) is correct
