Calculate the height of the clouds which caused this lightning. Given, speed of light =3×108 ms1 and speed of sound =340 ms1.

Since light travels with a large speed, we can neglect the time taken for light to reach our eye.
The time taken for the sound of lightning to reach our ears at 22s.
The speed of sound in air is 340 ms1

Hence, height of cloud = speed of sound in air×time taken to hear thundering

So, height of clouds =22×340=7480 m7.5 km
