It was explained that only males are affected by haemophilia because they do not have an extra normal X chromosome to compensate for the defective one.but won't the disease be transferred to daughter too if father is affected and mother is a carrier?

Yes, there is a chance when the effected x chromosome from mother and x chromosome from father is tranfered to daughter.
