Study the bar graph given below and answer the questions that follow:

Find the average production of rice during the 5 years.

After studying the bar graph, we have
Production of rice in 2005 = 50 million tonnes
Production of rice in 2006 = 40 million tonnes
Production of rice in 2007 = 70 million tonnes
Production of rice in 2008 = 50 million tonnes
Production of rice in 2009 = 60 million tonnes
For average production,
Sum of productions = 50 + 40 + 70 + 50 + 60 = 270
Average production $=\frac{Sumofobservations}{Numberofobservations}$
Average production $=\frac{270}{5}=54$ million tonnes
