Let the group of numbers be $a_{1}, a_{2}, a_{3}, a_{4}, a_{5}, \dots$
$a_{1} = a = - 1 a_{2} = a_{1} + d = - 1 + \frac{1}{2} = - \frac{1}{2} a_{3} = a_{2} + d = - \frac{1}{2} + \frac{1}{2} = 0 a_{4} = a_{3} + d = 0 + \frac{1}{2} = \frac{1}{2}$

Clearly, the series will be :
$- 1, - \frac{1}{2}, 0, \frac{1}{2}$

Hence, the first four terms of this A.P. are :
$- 1, - \frac{1}{2}, 0 a n d \frac{1}{2}$
