2x+y=-2y=-2-2x ...(i) 3x-y=7 ....(ii)Substituting eq (i) in eq (ii), we get : 3x--2-2x =73x+2+2x=75x=5x=1Substituting x=1 in eq (i), we get : y=-2-2×1y=-4Hence, x=1, y=-4 is the solution of the given equations.
