(ix) 5x + 6y = 7x + 3y = 3 (x + 6y − 6)

Open in App
Solution

5x+6y=7x+3y=3x+6y-6 5x+6y=7x+3y-2x+3y=0 ...(i) 7x+3y=3x+6y-6 7x +3y=3x+18y-18 4x-15y=-18 ...(ii) Multiplying eq (i) by 2, we get:-4x+6y=0 ...(iii) Adding eq (ii) and (iii), we get: 4x-15y=-18 -4x+ 6y= 0 -9y =-18 y=2Substituting y=2 in (i), we get: -2x+3×2=0 -2x=-6x=3Hence, x=3, y=2 is the solution of the given equations.
