Solution

The correct option is B 2,100 miles
Both of them reach Dallas in the same time. Hence, Robert travels at 95 mph since he covers 180 miles more.

Let the distance between San Jose and Dallas = x miles
Distance between Jacksonville and San Jose = (x + 180) miles

Time taken by James = x80
Time taken by Robert = x+18095

The time taken is equal for both. So,
x80=x+18095

x=960 miles

Distance between San Jose and Jacksonville =x+x+180=2,100 miles
