Open in App
Solution
Perimeter of the patio = 24 ft
We know,
Perimeter of a square = 4 × side
or,
Side of a square = Perimeter ÷ 4
So,
Side of the patio = 24 ÷ 4 = 6 ft
Now,
Area of a square = Side × Side
∴ Area of the patio = 6 × 6
= 36 sq ft
