Jayagovindan was pulling a trolley of mass 375 kg containing a sand bag of 34 kg. As he was moving uniformly with a speed of 28 kmph on a frictionless track, the sand in the bag started leaking at the rate of 0.06 kg/s. What would be the speed of the trolley when the entire sand bag gets empty?

As the trolley carrying the sand bag is moving uniformly, therefore, external force on the system = 0.
When the sand leaks out, it does not lead to the application of any external force on the trolley. Hence, the speed of the trolley shall not change.
