The correct option is C Tribal method of shifting cultivation
Deforestation is removal, decrease or deterioration of forest cover of an area. Jhuming is an important cause of deforestation. Jhuming was prevalent in early stages, even now in some 30 million hectares jhumming is practiced. It is called as jhum in north east India, Podu in Andhra Pradesh, Dahza in Madhya Pradesh, Dahi in Odisha. Technically it is called as shifting cultivation.
During jhum, the land is cleared and left for 2-3 years undisturbed to regain nutrients and vegetation naturally and another tract of land is cleared for cultivation.
