Number of favorable outcomes =1
Total number of possible outcomes =6

P(John wins)=Number of favorable outcomesTotal number of possible outcomes=16

Similarly, P(Alex wins)=16

Probability of either John or Alex wins, i.e, P (John or Alex wins)

P (John or Alex wins)=P(John wins)+P(Alex wins)

P (John or Alex wins)=16+16
