Solution

Find the portion of the prize did John's wife get and how much

Step 1: Find the John income tax amount

John got a price of 75000 in a TV contest and He paid 110the price as the income tax

The income tax price=110×75000

=7500

The income tax price=7500

Step 2: Find the remaining amount after the income tax deduction

Remaining amount=Prizeamount-Incometaxprice

= 7500-7500

=67500

Remaining amount =67500

Step 3: Find the amount is given to his wife

Out of the remaining, he gave to 13his son, 15to his daughter, 110to the Red Cross Society, and the rest to his wife

The amount given to his son =13×67500=22500

The amount given to his daughter=15×67500=13500

The amount given to the Red Cross Society=110×67500=6750

Amount left his wife =67500-13hisson+15tohisdaughter+110totheRedCrossSociety

=67500-(22500+13500+6750)=67500-42750=24750

The amount given to his wife is 24750
