John runs around a rectangular garden which is 17 m long and 10 m broad. Jack runs round an another rectangular garden which is 25 m long and 5 m broad. Which of them covers more distance in one round?

The correct option is B Jack
Given,
First rectangular garden: length = 17 m, width = 10 m
Second rectangular garden: length = 25 m, width = 5 m


In one round, John covers a distance equal to the perimeter of the first rectangular garden.
=2×(length + width)
=2×length+2×width
=2×17+2×10
=34+20
=54 m

Similarly, in one round Jack covers a distance equal to the perimeter of the second rectanglular garden.
=2×(length + width)
=2×length+2×width
=2×25+2×5
=50+10
=60 m

60>54
The perimeter of the second rectangle is greater than the first rectangle

Hence, Jack covers more distance than the John.
Option (b.) is the correct choice.
