Naming of the epithelial cells is based on thier shape. Cuboidal epithelium is called so because they are cuboid in shape. Cuboidal epithelium is present in the glands and their ducts.Also present in the nephron where it absorbs the useful substances. Cuboid epithelium is good over absorptive surfaces as they are smaller in size than columnar epithelial cells.
