K + H2O -> KOH + H2 . How to balance this equation without hit and trial method.

Step-1 balance the metal atoms on both sides.
So, in the given equation metal is K and is equal on both sides so no change in the equation.
K + H2O → KOH+H2
Step-2 Balance the oxygen atom. Oxygen is also the same in both side ,so no change in equation
K + H2O → KOH+H2
Step-3 Balance the Hydrogen atoms
​K + 2H2O → 2KOH+H2
After balancing the Hydrogen atom, the Potassium atom and Oxygen atom get unbalanced, which can be further balanced as;
2K + 2H2O → 2KOH+H2
