$1\frac{1}{3}+3\frac{2}{3}$

Answer 1

$1\frac{1}{3}$ and $3\frac{2}{3}$ are like fractions.

($\because$Their denominator is same).

$\therefore 1\frac{1}{3}+3\frac{2}{3}=\frac{4}{3}+\frac{11}{3}=\frac{4+11}{3}=\frac{15}{3}=\frac{15÷5}{5÷5}=5$

(On dividing the numerator and the denominator by 5)
