Solution

Addition and subtraction of decimals

Amount spent in purchasing book =245.60

Amount spent in purchasing pen =36.50

Amount spent in purchasing pencil =13.25

Therefore, total amount spent =(245.60+36.50+13.25) = ₹ 295.35

Amount given to the shopkeeper =500

Then, amount Kamal purchased =(500-295.35)

=204.65

Hence, the amount he gets back is ₹ 204.65
