Charles's law states that at constant pressure, the volume of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature. At state x with constant pressure, if we decrease the volume, then it also leads to a decrease in temperature. It is known that temperature is directly proportional to the kinetic energy of the matter. Liquid has low kinetic energy than gas. Thus, at constant pressure, if we decrease the volume, then, it will lead to a decrease in energy and finally, the gaseous state will be converted to the liquid state.
