Solution

Dear Student

Dear student W = f.d cos θ
1. Moving in a horizontal road, with uniform velocity: No work done
Since force due to load is downward, and the porter is moving in horizontal direction, no work is done by porter.

2. Moving on a slope with uniform velocity: Work done is given by f.d cos θ

3. Moving on a horizontal road with acceleration.: Work is done
As he is moving with acceleration hence some force is acting between feet and ground which is in direction of motion.

4. Lifting the luggage to keep it on his head.: Work is done
As both force applied and motion is in vertical direction.

5. Lowering the luggage from his head, to the ground. Work is done
As both force applied and motion is in vertical direction.
