Question

Km and other unit which are not a part of fundamental units come in which type of unit?

Open in App
Solution

Kilometre is indeed a fundamental unit as it cannot be further subdivided into other units. Units like Newton which can be subdivided into other fundamental units (recall N = k g space m space s to the power of negative 2 end exponent) are not fundamental units, but derived units. Hope this simple example clears your doubt about fundamental and derived units.
