Solution

The correct option is B North Korea had the support of Russian leader Joseph Stalin.
Korea was partitioned into North Korea and South Korea in 1945. North Korea was known as the People's Republic of Korea, and South Korea took the name the Republic of Korea. Both countries wanted to conquer the other to be a unified country - Korea. In June 1950, North Korea launched an attack on South Korea because they had the support of Russian leader Joseph Stalin. The USA decided to support South Korea, and this came as a shock to Kim Il-Sung and Stalin. The Korean War lasted for three years and ended in 1953.
