Solution

The correct option is A Lack of Photorespiration
Plants showing kranz anatomy have dimorphic chloroplasts within a single cell type. The mesophyll cells in such structures are clustered in the form of a ring outside the bundle sheath cells and the bundle sheath cells contain most of the chloroplasts, while the chloroplasts in the mesophyll cells are few in number. The C4 plants carry out photorespiration but the rate is one half to one third to that in C3 plants. They have more efficient photosynthesis with the ability to turn energy from light into chemical energy. The C4 cycle of photosynthesis is divided between the two cell types, the fluid-filled vacuoles are employed to divide the cell into two separate areas. Carboxylation enzymes in the cytosol can, therefore, be kept separate from decarboxylase enzymes and RuBisCO in the chloroplasts, and a diffusive barrier can be established between the chloroplasts (which contain RuBisCO) and the cytosol.
So, the correct option is 'Lack of photorespiration'.
