Solution

As the parts of the bicycle like brakes, chain, wires gets old its wear and tear increases. Also, its parts get rusted due to continuous exposure to air. Due to the increase in wear and tear the friction increases as two parts come in contact with each other. By applying lubricants like oil reduces the wear and tear of parts which reduces friction. Due to a decrease in friction, the noise also reduces considerably as the contact between the parts becomes smooth.
