The urinary system, also known as the renal system or urinary tract, consists of the kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra. The purpose of the urinary system is to eliminate wastes from the body. The corresponding pair of ureters collect the urine formed and move it to a urinary bladder. The urinary bladder stores urine until it can be excreted out through a tube called the urethra.
