Solution

The correct option is D (A)- RBC (B)- WBC (C)- Platelets
Red blood cells are small and biconcave in shape as they lack a nucleus and other organelles. This means they can be packed with haemoglobin which is the oxygen-carrying pigment. The red blood cells are also flexible so they can squeeze through the small capillaries.
The morphology of white blood cells differs significantly from red blood cells. They have nuclei and do not contain haemoglobin.
Platelets have no cell nucleus, they are fragments of cytoplasm that are derived from the megakaryocytes of the bone marrow, and then enter the circulation. These unactivated platelets are biconvex discoid (lens-shaped) structures, 2–3 µm in greatest diameter. Thus, the correct answer is the option C.
