Question

Lack of water in plants results in the closing of the stomata.

Open in App
Solution

Plants close stomata during lack of water:

  1. When conditions are unfavourable, some plants reduce water loss by closing their stomata.
  2. During low humidity, for example, water evaporates quickly from the leaf surface, and plants seal or partially close their stomata to keep the water balance in the leaf balanced.
