Solution

Ratio of Rs. 100, Rs. 50 and Rs. 10 notes = 2:3:5

Let the number of Rs. 100 notes =2x

The number of Rs. 50 notes =3x

The number of Rs. 10 notes =5x

According to the question,

2x×100+3x×50+5x×10=400000

200x+150x+50x=400000

400x=400000

x=1000

Therefore,

The number of Rs. 100 notes =2x=2×1000=2000

The number of Rs. 50 notes =3x=3×1000=3000

The number of Rs. 10 notes =5x=5×1000=5000

Hence, this is the required result.
