Question

Lakshmi is a cashier in a bank. She has currency notes of denominations .Rs100, .Rs50 and .Rs10, respectively. The ratio of the number of these notes is 2:3:5. The total cash with Lakshmi is .Rs400000. How many notes of each denomination does she have?

Calculating the number of notes of each denominations

Let Number of notes of Rs100 =2x

Let Number of notes of Rs50 = 3x

Let Number of notes of Rs10= 5x

So, the value of all the denominations will be as follows

Value of notes ofRs100 is = 2×100x =200x

Value of notes of Rs50 is = 3×50x=150x

Value of notes of Rs10 is= 5×10x=50x

Total Amount of cash in bank= Rs400000

200x+150x+50x=400000400x=400000x=1000

Number of notes of Rs100 =2×1000=2000

Number of notes of Rs50=3×1000=3000

Number of notes of Rs10=5×1000=5000

Therefore, Lakshmi have 2000,3000 and 5000 notes of Rs100,Rs50 and Rs10 respectively.
