Question

Last electron acceptor of PS I in cyclic photo-phosphorylation is

Open in App
Solution

During cyclic photo-phosphorylation, only PS I is involved but not PS II. The reaction centre of PS I absorbs light of wavelength 700 nm and releases electrons which pass through the electron transport system and plastocyanin being the last electron acceptor of PS I.

This way the electrons are cycled back to the reaction centre. It does not require an external electron donor.
