Question

Latent heat of fusion of two liquids A and B is 100 j/kg and 150j/kg respectively. Which one will produce more cooling. Effect and why?

Solution

It should be Latent Heat of Vaporisation. Because, it is the vaporisation that causes cooling. Liquid B will produce more cooling effect, because it has a higher latent heat of vaporisation( when compared to liquid A). Therefore, it absorbs more heat than Liquid A( whose latent heat of vaporisation is lesser).
