Law of octaves:

  1. John Alexander Newlands, an English chemist, proposed the law of octaves in1865.
  2. Newlands was one of the first to identify a pattern in the properties of the elements
  3. Newland's Law of Octaves states that the properties of every eighth Element, starting from any Element, are a repetition of the properties of the starting Element only if they are arranged in ascending order of their atomic masses.
  4. This law is valid only up to Calcium.
