Let x be the number of plates and y be the number of puris.

Given,
$y = 4 (x - 1)$ ;

$y = 3 x + 1$

$\Rightarrow 4 x - 4 = 3 x + 1$

$\Rightarrow x = 5$

$y = 4 (5 - 1) = 16$

So, no. of plates $= 5$

No. of puris $= 16$ .
