Leguminous plants are rich in protiens.Give reasons.

Solution

Leguminous plants have nodules on their roots containing bacteria which can fix nitrogen contained in the air in the soil. This nitrogen becomes available to the plant, which uses the nitrogen as an essential part of the proteins of its cells. Other types of plant cannot do this, and have available only the nitrate which is already present in the water in the soil.
