Question

Length of a rectangle is 3m more than its breadth. It's perimeter is 38 m. Find it's length and breadth.

Let x be the breadth of rectangle.
Therefore,
Length of rectangle (l)=(x+3)
Perimeter of rectangle =38m
As we know that,
Perimeter of rectangle =2(l+b)
2((x+3)+x)=38
2x+3=382
2x=193
x=162=8m
Therefore,
l=x+3=8+3=11m
Hence the length and breadth of rectangle is 11m and 8m respectively.
