The correct option is Ax−y=4,x+y=20 Let the length of rectangle be x Let the breadth of rectangle be y As per given question length of rectangle is 4 cm more than its breadth, so the following equation can be formed x−y=4 ..........(1) We know, perimeter of a rectangle is 2( length + breadth) Therefore, 2(x+y)=40 ⇒2x+2y=40 ⇒x+y=20 ......(2) Therefore the given equations are x+y=20 and x−y=4.
