Question

Let A and B be events such that p(A)=511,P(B)=611, and P(AB)=711 and P(B/A).

Open in App
Solution

As we know,
P(AB)=P(A)+P(B)P(AB)
On substituting the values, we get
711=511+611P(AB)

P(AB)=1111711
P(AB)=411.

Now,
P(AB)=P(A)P(B/A).
On substituting the values, we get
411=511×P(B/A)

P(B/A)=45.
