Solution

The correct option is C Assertion is correct but Reason is incorrect
We have,
P(AB)=P(AB)
P(A)+P(B)P(AB)=P(AB) ...(i)
{P(A)P(AB)}+{P(B)P(AB)}=0
P(A¯¯¯¯B)+P(¯¯¯¯AB)=0
P(A¯¯¯¯B)=P(¯¯¯¯AB)=0
So, statement 1 is true.
From (i), we have
P(A)+P(B)=2P(AB)
So, P(A)+P(B)=1 may not be true.
